Our workshops are attended by early childhood and elementary classroom teachers, heads of school, directors, and curriculum developers. We encourage schools and organizations to attend each workshop as a team whenever possible. We have found that institutional learning and implementation is more impactful when teams attend together. Learn our framework to guide your determination of the rights of learners on your campus. Create shared values, dissect the parts within your system that support these rights, determine the purpose for each right, and consider the complexities.
Learn to identify factors reducing democratic participation in the making of school and classroom environments while highlighting learner commitments that create a mindset that enhances project based education and student engagement.
UNQUIET THINKING
Parts, Purpose, Complexities
How do the children of SGP build a strong sense of citizenship, steeped in good human values, while also reaching remarkable academic goals? Unquiet Thinking. It's where Design Thinking, Values-Based Learning, and student-driven projects collide. Join us as we take you through the tenants of a school focused on participatory citizenship.
This course has the option for educators to add on values tailored to your campus' religious tradition.
DEEP DIVE into DESIGN THINKING
ECE and Elementary
Want to integrate Design Thinking into your school's elementary or early childhood approach? Stuck on ways to reach content mastery using DT? Struggling to see how DT fits within your early childhood day? Design Thinking helps build the capacity to imagine change, builds leadership skills, and supports gifted learners. There is a process and we can show you.
This course can be tailored to beginner practitioners and those who are ready to enhance their DT practice.
SENSORY INTEGRATION IN THE PROJECT ENVIRONMENT
Examining ways to integrate visual, auditory, tactile, gustatory, olfactory, vestibular, and proprioceptive stimuli into project-based classroom encounters, this workshop will share strategies preschool teachers can use in their daily rhythm.
Aimed for teachers of children 2 and older, this course can be tailored to a specific age group or may be generalized for all preschool-aged children.
Note: this course is a 90 minute workshop.
